1. What do I wear?
Yoga style clothing – something comfortable but form fitting that will not restrict movement. Shoes are not worn in The Studio, you are welcome to work in socks or bare feet. Please just be sure your feet are clean, the rug will thank you!
We also request that you refrain from wearing perfume.
2. How do I begin my Pilates training?
One of two ways: Either in a private session or an introductory mat class. If you have never done Pilates before, the Intermediate classes are not for you.
3. How many times a week should I do Pilates?
2-3 times a week can be perfect. We often recommend 2 mat classes and a private session. However, your teacher will work with you to find the right combination.
4. What do I need to bring?
Nothing but a towel for the Mat class students, the Studio provides everything else.
5. What is the cancellation policy?
All private/semi private lessons must be cancelled 24 hours in advance of the appointment, with the exception of Monday appointments, which must be cancelled by 11:00am on Saturday. Exceptions may be made in cases of severe circumstances or illness.
6. How does scheduling and payment work for group classes?
All mat and tower classes require pre-payment for the session and we ask that you come only to the class for which you are registered. By registering for these classes you are holding a spot for the duration of the course, and are therefore committed to it in full. For Introductory Class students, if The Studio is notified of your wish to discontinue prior to the start of the session, you will receive a full refund minus $50 administration fee. No refunds will be made after the second class.
7. If I miss a class, can I make it up?
It is not possible to make up a class in the busy summer season, because classes are already full to capacity. However, in the off season exceptions may be made when space allows.
8. Can I drop-in on a class?
Drop in status is available when space permits for devoted students with a schedule conflict or for visitors whose vacation on island is for a shorter duration. Please call or email The Studio to inquire.
9. How do I pay?
Check or cash is preferred, but credit cards are accepted .
10. What is your cell phone policy?
This is a cell phone free zone! Please turn off your phone when entering The Studio.
